The Huntington Beach (California) Human Relations Task Force has selected Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and award-winning journalist David Oliver Relin for its city-wide Huntington Beach Reads One Book project. The book is a moving story of Greg’s introduction to Pakistan and his relentless work in the earthquake torn regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan. The idea is to have all adult, new readers, students and families reading the same book at the same time to create a city-wide conversation about building bridges of understanding between different cultures. A documentary to chronicle how people changed as a result of reading the book, and the ideas and philosophies behind it will be part of the project. The film will also look at how people’s views of other cultures change, and their larger view of humanity, as a result of such exercises. |

| A salute to the Volunteers of Orange County California, this short film looks at both sides of a world normally hidden from everyday life. A glimpse at the homeless, the elderly, sick and immobile, orphans, and many others in need of help, and a tribute to the extraordinary people who volunteer their time, energy to give comfort to the old and bring a smile to the young. This is the second film made for VCOC and was shown at the Annual Awards ceremony in Disneyland, April 2007. |

Nature and the environment have always been an important cornerstone of our work. With climate change and global warming taking center stage, the subjects have become all the more important. Among the many projects we have undertaken are water scarcity and conservation, plastic bag pollution, coastal communities, marine life, alternative energy, and more. For our current project our film crew traveled with the Indus Walk team from its source up north to its exit into the Arabian Sea, documenting every aspect of the river, ecological, social, natural, environmental, and political. We look forward to working with organizations in raising awareness of environmental issues and climate change, in the form of Public Service Announcements, documentaries, teleplays and films. More… |

In today's world, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is taking high priority in the global corporate agenda. The relations between business, state and society are changing and media is envisioned as the main driver and an inseparable player in building the capacity of business and government to deliver better results for the sustainable development of society. This concept is gaining currency in Pakistan as corporate entities become aware and interested in fulfilling their role in the communities in which they serve and operate.
Eckova in association with Access Consulting, an established leader in the Social Policy sector, will focus on bringing the unique capabilities of Media and Creative Arts with Education, Health, Water, Sanitation and Environment together to enable organizations in achieving their goals and positioning of socially responsible businesses with focus on CSR. |

We are very excited about adding fiction to our range of work. Teleplays and dramas are a very powerful method of bringing home important messages and reaching the targeted audiences. We are currently working on issues related to human trafficking, empowerment of women, elections, and the environment with a special focus on water. We expect to partner and collaborate with international aid and donor agencies and with regional broadcasters in working on these and other important themes. |

We are proud to be a part of the Karachi Megacity project, working with the city administration as well as the project funding agencies, towards creating an awareness of the city’s march into a prosperous and progressive future. We have begun by documenting the public debate on the rationale and justification for the projects on mass transit, water/waste water, solid waste management and low income housing. The next stages will include awareness and information media campaigns about these projects, their benefits and progress, to keep the citizens of Karachi involved in the growth and development of their city. |
